31 May 2017 A fundraising event dubbed “Buffet Breakfast for A Cause: Eat without limit for cleanliness” was held on Sunday, 21 May 2017 at the One80 Restaurant of the Copthorne Hotel in Wellington, to support the Keep New Zealand Beautiful (KNZB) 2017 campaign. Initiated by Gregguil Besa, a Justice of the Peace and a member of the Keep Lower Hutt Beautiful Committee, the event was aimed not only to support the operational expenses of the KNZB but also to stir awareness and encouragement for prospective volunteers within, but not limited to, the Filipino community in the Wellington region to participate in the upcoming clean-up drive on 11-17 September 2017 across New Zealand. The event was attended by Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand HE Jesus Domingo and his Deputy Head of Mission Querobine Deapera Laccay, Members of Parliament Chris Bishop and Brett Hudson, Former Prime Minister John Key Adviser and Fonterra Executive Nicola Willis, Chair of the Hutt Multicultural Council Anita Mansell, and Hutt City Council’s Environmental Sustainability Advisor Sandy Beath-Croft, amongst others. KNZB is a charitable trust dedicated to keeping New Zealand clean, safe, and beautiful. It provides cleaning materials for those who will voluntarily be conducting clean-up in their communities.
