Valley Spring Clean

The Valley Spring Clean is a by the community, for the community event in which we encourage the public to bring in their waste, provide demonstrations on sustainable initiatives and have numerous fun activities for kids to name just a small aspect of this jam-packed day.

The Spring Clean occurs to support the people of North East Valley in being responsible with what they no longer need. With support from Dunedin City Council, we are going bigger and better, especially in avoiding sending items to landfill. We’ll have a team of dedicated volunteers assessing and diverting as much as possible away from the skip, as well as a cloth swap shop for unwanted items, The community can bring along paint, scrap metal, plant punnets and pots for re-use and recycling. The Stitch Kitchen team will be on site to help repair or re-purpose clothes for those who wish to do so. It’s all taking place on the grounds of our Valley Project.

There will be children’s entertainment as well as presentations by Enviro-schools on waste minimisation and repurposing, food for volunteers and the public provided by the wonderful community-minded Dunedin Bowling Club and much more!

It’s all happening on Saturday 24 September 2022 from 11am to 3pm.
