Congratulations to our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for July, Jessica Lamb!

Congratulations to Jessica Lamb, our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for July.

At just 16 years old Jessica volunteers for Kai Rotorua, Forest and Bird Youth, Whakarewarewa Pest Control and Tatau Pounamu. Along with her twin sister Kaitlyn, Jessica has set up the Rotorua Forest and Bird Youth Hub where they organise rubbish clean ups around Rotorua, tree plantings and trappings. She has also set up EcoWarriors, a group at Tatau Pounamu which does conservation work in the community and is working on getting compost bins at her school.

Jessica says, “I am highly involved with all this conservation work because I believe that in order to create a better world to live in, we not only need to connect with nature but we also need to create a cleaner world so that future generations will be able to experience and live in a world that is not heavily polluted. And by working in a group with like-minded individuals, we can change the world – so that it’s better for us and generations to come.”

Congratulations again, Jessica! Thank you for all your hard work and the positive influence you are having on others to Keep New Zealand Beautiful.

The winner of Volunteer of the Month receives $100, a Keep New Zealand Beautiful t-shirt, a bag, Resene paint voucher and more – along with being automatically nominated for the Tidy Kiwi award at our annual Beautiful Awards!
