Congratulations to our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for August, Julian Stills!

Congratulations to Julian Stills, our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for August.

Julian is a devoted litter collector in Picton. Everyday he heads out on a walk carrying a bag to pick up other people’s rubbish. Earlier this year during lockdown Julian took the opportunity to head out and collect bigger items that had been dumped in the bush and contacted the council to come and dispose of them. One day whilst walking with his partner they found a bin washed up on the beach. They collected all the rubbish on that beach and carried the bin home – what an amazing effort!

“I automatically do it and I have done for a long time. It annoys me that some people are so thoughtless and throw their rubbish out of their car or boat or just on the ground.”

Congratulations again Julian! Thank you for all your hard work to Keep New Zealand Beautiful.

The winner of Volunteer of the Month receives $100, a Keep New Zealand Beautiful t-shirt, a bag, Resene paint voucher and more – along with being automatically nominated for the Tidy Kiwi award at our annual Beautiful Awards!
