Congratulations to Kate, our August Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to our August Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month Kate Moss-Mason, a keen Otago-based volunteer and researcher doing great work for the environment!

A keen environmentalist, Kate was instrumental in founding the Otago University-based group Lets get Trashed, a group that conducts regular litter clean ups around the campus and city. As a ‘plogger’ — person who collects litter while out jogging or exercising — she sees first hand the litter on the streets, which she helps address by organising and participating in clean ups around the city.

As of the time of writing, Kate is thick into helping organise a Clean Up Week event around the Forsyth Barr Stadium/Logan Park area.

What’s even more awesome is that Kate is furthering her passion and talents with a Masters degree, working on research into climate-proofing ecological restoration efforts for which she’s received a university grant (see more here: https://bit.ly/3L7hHuX)

Whakamihi – congratulations! We’re impressed and so pleased to award the Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month to such an amazing person! As this month’s Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month, Kate will receive a Keep New Zealand Beautiful merchandise pack and a Resene paint voucher for any beautification efforts, as well as being entered into the 2024 Beautiful Awards.
