Congratulations to our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for December, Nigel Wilson!

Congratulations to Nigel Wilson, our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for December.

Nigel is the Chair of the St Bathans Area Community Association and has taken personal responsibility to keep the small town looking beautiful.

Nigel regularly maintains the the town’s campsite, domain and the empty sections around the historic post office and gold office. He has also taken responsibility for cleaning and disinfecting the toilets at the town’s popular Blue Lake to keep them safe from the spread of Covid-19 for walkers. And over Labour Weekend, and despite a broken hand, Nigel helped to  plant 230 native trees in the St Bathans’ domain.

Nigel focuses on building strong relationships within his organisation and community so that they can all work together towards a common goal and get things done.

“My partner and I dedicate a significant amount of time to ensure the historic village is maintained for visitors. Our area is one of the most iconic in Central Otago, and with less than ten permanent residents and over 10,000 visitors annually there is plenty of work to do,” says Nigel.

Congratulations again Nigel! Thank you for your hard work to keep St Bathans beautiful and for inspiring others!
