Congratulations to Quinn Barker, our Volunteer of the Month for January!!

Nominated by one of our branches, Keep Waihi Beautiful, Quinn spent his holiday break cleaning up the Karangahake Gorge outside of Paeroa. He collected 360 bags of rubbish, 50 tyres, mattresses and ovens along the river bank of the gorge (over 24 kilometres in total!) He gained national recognition for his efforts after a Facebook page that shared his picture and story went viral, amassing 17,000 likes and 3,200 shares. Quinn made a short documentary talking about his work cleaning up the gorge, you can watch it by clicking here.
