Congratulations to Bryan Fairbairn, October Volunteer of the Month!

Keep New Zealand Beautiful wishes to congratulate Bryan Fairbairn, awarded October Volunteer of the Month for his incredible efforts contributing to the regeneration of his Christchurch community.

Bryan contributes a huge deal to his local Christchurch community, working voluntarily for over 4 years in Christchurch’s residential Red Zone for up to 40 hours a week, developing, maintaining and beautifying an increasingly large area of the zone.  He has spent tens of thousands of his own money so far in addition to receiving grants and donations of $48,000 on his efforts. Bryan is not paid at all for his time. Local contractor Citycare pays Bryan petrol money and assists with maintenance of his machinery and equipment. Bryan’s work is a labour of love as he works tirelessly to care for his old stamping ground and uplift the spirits of ex-residents, locals and drivers passing.

The winner of the New Zealand Couriers Volunteer of the Month receives $100, a KNZB tshirt, New Zealand Couriers bag, Resene paint voucher, Klean Kanteen drink bottle, two dreamy Vendella pillows, a 6-pack of Vista Drinks sparkling water and more – along with being automatically entered into the annual Beautiful Awards!

If you know someone who does great work keeping New Zealand beautiful, you can nominate them here.
