28 Jun 2026The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) in Christchurch has been organizing regular volunteer events since 2009 with church members actively participating in every event throughout Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region.The church has collaborated with many local volunteer groups and NGOs such as Keep Christchurch Beautiful and NZ Blood Services to organize meaningful events that benefit the public. Typical activities include clean-up campaigns, tree planting, blood drives and disaster relief. Recent activities include:February: NZ Blood Service Christchurch – The church organised a Blood Drive in collaboration with NZ Blood Service Christchurch. 34 church members donated around 16 000 ml of blood, helping at least 105 people who depended on blood donors for their quality of life.April: Richmond Community Garden – The church carried out Tree Planting in conjunction with ANZAC Day to honor our veterans who fought for peace. 41 church members planted 100+ trees across the garden.May: Sydenham Park – Hagley Park – The church organised a Street Cleanup Campaign in collaboration with Keep Christchurch Beautiful to clean the streets between Sydenham Park and Hagley Park. 40 church members collected 1500 Kg of rubbish, receiving compliments and praises from the local community.And in June the church organised another Blood Drive in collaboration with NZ Blood Service Christchurch.Check out their website for further details: https://newzealandwmscog.org/tag/christchurch/Thank you everyone for Keeping New Zealand BeautifulShare this page
