Congratulations to Jacqui Ross our January 2026 Volunteer of the month

Over the last five years Jacqui has become an unofficial kaitiaki of the local park Tai-kato Riverpark Reserve in Henderson, Auckland.

Jacqui can be seen with her empty rubbish bags, gloves and her enduring positivity collecting rubbish from around the park and the creek edges.

She has made relationships with the regular council rubbish collectors who empty the bins and with the local tag out trust to help keep the park clean, tidy and inviting.

Children in the local community can thank Jacqui for picking up the glass near the footpaths and playground.

The Huruhuru Creek is cleaner because Jacqui clears the rubbish from the creek edge before it ends up in the creek and she reports larger dump sites to Auckland Council for removal.

Thank you, Jacqui, for Keeping New Zealand Beautiful
