PAINT YOUR TOWN BEAUTIFUL 2015

 

Keep Alexandra Clyde Beautiful was the recipient of the 2015 Paint Your Town Beautiful initiative.  The unveiling of the mural was held on Sunday 15 March, with nearly fifty in attendance, including the Mayor.  For your interest here is a little bit of background about the town and the mural…Alexandra is known for its cycle trails, gold mining and business district, therefore this mural recreates historic triptych depiction of three photos:

  1. ‘Homeward B.’ taken by J. H. Ingley, circa 1901, depicting two cyclists near the original road bridge in Alexandra. Alexander Turnbull Library.
