OPIKI SCHOOL LEAD PLANTING IN OPIKI

  • Check out the great work from Opiki school during Arbor Week. Thursday 9th June 24 young students along with their teacher/deputy principal Mr Richard Lawton, recreational services, volunteers and two staff from council planted many plants (400) at horseshoe bend in Tokomaru. They have adopted this spot and it’s their second year in a row.

The students have embraced and beautified their little piece of paradise and what a fantastic job on what they have achieved in just two years. Stunning fantails playing in the fresh mulch along with the numerous honey bees made it even more worthwhile.

Also the picture of the bollards has a story…..previously they were covered in tags and the students decided to use good ole fashioned elbow grease and sand paper and cleaned them up!!! WELLDONE OPIKI SCHOOL for looking after the environment and taking pride in your local reserve.

Keep Levin Beautiful is extremely grateful for the effort you all made past, present and future.
