Congratulations to Brendon, Anthony and Caleb Hazel, the winners of our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month for June.

The three young boys recently went to the Levin Adventure Park and found it in quite a mess so Brendon (5), Caleb (6) and Anthony (8) took it upon themselves to pick up all the litter.

“We cleaned up the rubbish because we didn’t want animals to die’, said Caleb.

The boys removed broken glass, rotten food, cans and much more loading it up in a trolley to dispose of.

The three boys were nominated by Horowhenua Councillor and Chair of Keep Horowhenua Beautiful Victoria Kaye-Simmons. Victoria said the boys were very worthy of recognition for initiating the clean up without being asked.

“Pride and vibrancy is part of Keep Horowhenua Beautiful and you guys did a fantastic job – awesome work, thanks you so much!”

Congratulations again Brendon, Anthony and Caleb and thanks for all looking after your little part of New Zealand.

This month’s Tidy Kiwis will receive $100 to share, a Keep New Zealand Beautiful t-shirt, a Resene paint voucher and more – along with being automatically nominated for the Young Legend Award or Young Legend Award at our annual Beautiful Awards! Plus, thanks to Stand Desk we have four desks to give away this year to our Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month winners – we will draw a winner for this every three months.
