Congratulations to Keith Wells, October’s Volunteer Of The Month

Congratulations to Keith Walls, our Volunteer of the Month for October!

Since taking an early retirement, Keith enjoyed regular walks along Petone’s beautiful shore. On these walks however, he was troubled by the amount of rubbish that he would see. During these walks, he tried to pick up as much litter as he could but felt that he was not making that much of a difference. Then, he found the “Petone Beach Clean Up” Facebook page.  He has since been at every monthly beach clean-up.

He says: “Working with Lorraine and the rest of the volunteers that make up the group, I feel we have been able to improve the quality of the foreshore and make it a safer place for children and wildlife, as well as making it a far more pleasant place to stroll along. It’s nice to feel that I’m giving a little back, for all the enjoyment the foreshore has given to me.”

Congratulations again, Keith, and thank you so much for your hard work to Keep New Zealand Beautiful.

The winner of the New Zealand Couriers Volunteer of the Month receives $100, a KNZB tshirt, New Zealand Couriers bag, Resene paint voucher, Klean Kanteen drink bottle, a 6-pack of Vista Drinks sparkling water and more – along with being automatically entered into the annual Beautiful Awards!
