Battle Week

We’re calling on all aspiring citizen scientists of Aotearoa to take action against litter by participating in Battle Week from 7-14 April 2024.

It’s easy to get involved and great opportunity to try your hand at citizen science.

Simply register to hold your own Upstream or Backyard Battle between 7-14 April, and you’ll be helping us to understand the litter issue around both waterways and inland.

The data collected at an Upstream or Backyard Battle provides a secondary dataset to our National Litter Audit and feeds into a shared database that helps to inform local and national legislation, our educational programming and behaviour change campaigns.

Join other schools, community groups and volunteers throughout New Zealand who are passionate about the environment and who are coming together to make a difference and contribute proactively to the solution.
