Congratulations to Saara our November Volunteer of the Month

11-year-old Saara has a passion for our environment and is a driver to promoting a clean environment. She has a strong desire to spread knowledge about the harm we are causing to our surroundings, as well as being involved in cleanups around Whangarei.

She was involved in a recent cleanup at Te Kamo in Whangarei after enrolling herself for the cleanup campaign and also including a friend in this initiative. She participated in a cleanup at Onerahi 2 years ago and was recognized with a Paul Harris fellow last year for her service to the community. This year, her school project was about littering and pollution which included a presentation to kindergarten kids about the benefits of upcycling. Her thoughts also involve trying to think of a solution on what to do with the floating garbage island.
