APRIL – VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

We are pleased to announce that the New Zealand Couriers April Volunteer Of The Month goes to a very passionate, hardworking and extremely reliable national volunteer – Ying.

Ying comes from China and loves living in New Zealand so much that she wanted to do something to give back to the community.  After seeing a volunteer ad online she contacted Keep New Zealand Beautiful to offer her time to help with the preparation of resources for our national Clean Up Week event (which is taking place September 11 to 17).Ying is currently studying a post-graduate degree in Marketing and is living over in Albany (a 35minute drive from the national office with no traffic).  The time of her commute does not put her off and she consistently turns up smiling, and eager to help prepare the kits for the thousands of volunteers who take part in Clean Up Week each year.

So much time and planning goes into the preparation of Clean Up Week and it wouldn’t be the success that it is, without the support and commitment from volunteers like Ying.

We were very lucky last year in the lead up to clean up week to have a significant number of individuals volunteer their time in our national office as well as some groups join us for a full day or two to help out! Ying is a wonderful example of someone who has jumped on board to help and also taken an opportunity to learn different skills, meet some new people and do her bit to Keep New Zealand Beautiful.
