Volunteering with Keep New Zealand Beautiful is a fun and satisfying way to get involved in your community. You’ll be part of a network of incredible Kiwis all over the country, all working to do their bit for a cleaner, safer environment.

Volunteer to organise an event
‘What an amazing day!’ We hear it time and again – volunteers blown away by the sense of community created by a litter clean-up or beautification event.
There are opportunities throughout the year to get involved in Keep New Zealand Beautiful progammes and events. We run Paint New Zealand Beautiful in March, KNZB Arbor Week in June and Clean-Up Week In September. But we need volunteers like you to make them happen.
Get together a group of friends or families and make it a day out in your neighbourhood. We’ll give you all the information and resources you need – sign up for our newsletter or keep an eye on our calendar for details.
If you want to run an event outside of our awareness weeks above, that is no problem! We have clean up kits available which you can register for here. We also have graffiti adopt a spot kits which you can register for here. All our resources are free but are subject to availabilty and require you to complete an evaluation form after your event. If you would like to discuss in more detail please don't hesitate to email email@example.com.
Report a litter hot spot
To report a litter or illegal dumping problem, call 0800 TIDY NZ.
Keep New Zealand Beautiful is working to introduce a National Litter Index in New Zealand. This will allow us to map litter hotspots so we can target problem areas and track progress as we implement initiatives. You can help out by doing a litter count in your area. Read more about tackling litter
