KNZB Awards

Best Loo

Keep New Zealand Beautiful recognises efforts made by local bodies, by organising various awards each year. The awards are made to entrants who are the best achiever in their category.

Introduction

Public toilets in most cities and towns throughout New Zealand have taken on very attractive appearances.

While the building and upkeep is the responsibility of the local authority, in some areas the beautification and appearance of these buildings is done by voluntary organisations like Keep New Zealand Beautiful Society programmes.

Simple beautification in the form of attractive pathways, flower beds, planting of trees and shrubs around these buildings have enhanced them. In many cases murals have been painted inside and out.

The concept of this competition is to encourage councils to enter their public toilets around New Zealand and within a Keep New Zealand Beautiful programme site.

The competition is sponsored by: Kiwi Loo
