We provide rubbish picker-upper sticks (thanks to UMS)\, vinyl gloves\, and hi-vest vests (thanks to Mahurangi Wastebusters). If you feel unwell\, please for your safety and everyone else’s\, stay home. \nMeet behind The Owl at 9am and grab yourself a rubbish bag (or BYO bag to put the trash into)\, gloves\, and a rubbish picker upper stick too. \nStick around for a free cup of coffee and cakes after the cleanup at Caffe Cozy in Wellsford Town(kindly sponsored by a local business Balance Software). \nSpread the word! Group will break up and clean the full surroundings of English Park\, waterways and outside the local Primary School.\nNext we will cross at the lights situated outside English Park and walk down Cranford towards St Albans Park\, situated between Madras and Barbadoes Streets.\nThere will be a truck parked here that will remove all the litter collected.\nB.B.Q. will be included for all volunteers.\nIf possible\, please bring your own gloves ie. gardening ones are great.  If you have a sack or big bucket\, bring these along too.\nWe will have signage so you know what streets we are covering\, just follow the chalk markings.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in cleaning up the lakefront in honour of Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s Clean Up Week!  \nClean Up Week may have been delayed\, but it only gives us an excuse to celebrate in an even more fun way – on Halloween! Come in costume and try trick or treating with a twist – pick or treating. Grab a jack-o-lantern bucket and hit the beach to clean up litter and any other treasures you may uncover! \nWe’ll meet on Redoubt St\, near the Float Plane\, and divide and conquer from there. All supplies will be provided and then you can choose to venture along the beach\, the town centre\, or lakefront footpath. Let’s clean up Taupo\, one piece of litter at a time! \nAt the end\, there will be treats to reward your hard work.

DESCRIPTION:An increasing amount of plastic is entering the ocean and killing marine life at alarming rates. We can take direct action to reduce this problem by removing trash from beaches and important marine animal habitats.   Join our passionate volunteers as we work together with local communities to clean beaches and waterways around the country and raise awareness around the issue of marine plastic pollution. They are free to join\, family-friendly\, and inclusive; we love seeing children\, teens\, students of all ages\, adults\, and seniors come along and get involved with being part of the change our local communities and ecosystems need.  \nWe will be meeting at 9:30 AM near the Skate Park for a briefing.  Please bring gloves (reusable if possible) and your face mask. Clean-up bags will be provided.
