The community pride\nInitiative\, run annually by Keep New Zealand Beautiful\, inspires businesses\, schools\, community groups and individuals to actively participate in cleaning up their little part of Aotearoa. \nWe’ll meet at Pinewood Rd and head out onto the beach for the clean-up. There can be a bit of broken glass so volunteers will need sturdy shoes and cut-resistant gloves. We can provide some of these but its best if volunteers come equipped if possible.

DESCRIPTION:Keep Wellsford Beautiful is a group of people striving to see our beautiful town preserved by actively collecting rubbish and bringing awareness to the problem. \nCome join us picking up rubbish around Wellsford town every third Sunday of the month\, 9-10 am. We provide rubbish picker-upper sticks (thanks to UMS)\, vinyl gloves\, and hi-vest vests (thanks to Mahurangi Wastebusters). If you feel unwell\, please for your safety and everyone else’s\, stay home. \nMeet behind The Owl at 9am and grab yourself a rubbish bag (or BYO bag to put the trash into)\, gloves\, and a rubbish picker upper stick too. \nStick around for a free cup of coffee and cakes after the cleanup at Caffe Cozy in Wellsford Town(kindly sponsored by a local business Balance Software). \nSpread the word! Are you ready?On the 29th of May 2021\, from 9:45 am -12 pm we’re getting together to clean\, sweep\, paint\, weed\, wash windows and pick up rubbish.As a BIG ‘thank you’ for all the hard work\, we plan to celebrate with a good old Kiwi BBQ\, free for all those who pitch in.Please wear closed in shoes and clothing suitable for painting and bring medication you may require (asthma\, allergies).Gloves\, hi-vis vests\, and all equipment will be provided.This is an eco-friendly event\, water & paper cups are provided\, please bring your own refillable drink bottle if you prefer.To register as a volunteer please get in contact with Paula via email paula@mbct.org.nz or (09) 269 4080.
