All rubbish will be disposed of FREE of charge at the Ōpōtiki Resource Recovery Centre – We can pick it up or you can drop it off (more details are on the registration form). Please organise your own clean-up kit for your team (safe and reusable when you can!). DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s Clean Up Week this year\, EcoSolutions Far North and Para Kore\, the team that run the Kaitaia Market Recycling are bringing you The Kaitiaia Kaitiaki Clean up 2022 andwe’d love for you to join us! \nWe want to empower our local community to become kaitiaki and create awareness about what litter is out in our community. \nChoose a spot on the way to the Kaitaia Saturday marketing to clean up \, bring your bag to market and contribute to the clean up of Kaitaia and surrounds! \nThere will be extra bins at the market to divert the recyclables we collect as well as rubbish bins to make sure litter heads to the right place instead of our Moana. \nWe will run a waste audit during this event to add to the Te tai Tokerau litter debris monitoring project. \nMake sure you separate recyclables from litter when you are collecting\, we recommend carrying two smaller bags instead of mixing one big bag… \nParticipants:Please provide your own gloves\, collection buckets\, high-viz vests\, sanitiser\, sunblock\, first-aid and water as needed.use garden gloves and common sense when litter picking! \nEveryone is welcome to join us. SUMMARY:Valley Spring Clean
DESCRIPTION:The Valley Spring Clean is a by the community\, for the community event in which we encourage the public to bring in their waste\, provide demonstrations on sustainable initiatives and have numerous fun activities for kids to name just a small aspect of this jam-packed day. \nThe Spring Clean occurs to support the people of North East Valley in being responsible with what they no longer need. With support from Dunedin City Council\, we are going bigger and better\, especially in avoiding sending items to landfill. We’ll have a team of dedicated volunteers assessing and diverting as much as possible away from the skip\, as well as a cloth swap shop for unwanted items\, The community can bring along paint\, scrap metal\, plant punnets and pots for re-use and recycling. The Stitch Kitchen team will be on site to help repair or re-purpose clothes for those who wish to do so. It’s all taking place on the grounds of our Valley Project. \nThere will be children’s entertainment as well as presentations by Enviro-schools on waste minimisation and repurposing\, food for volunteers and the public provided by the wonderful community-minded Dunedin Bowling Club and much more! \nIt’s all happening on Saturday 24 September 2022 from 11am to 3pm.

DESCRIPTION:Team up with your local neighbours and let’s get the area looking beautiful for all to enjoy! \nIt’s going to be great to have the walking track that is set to connect the subdivision to new developments in the next few years. We’re also so lucky that wildlife like to frequent the waterway and shelter amongst the bushes along side it. With rubbish being blown down from nearby building sites and being washed through the storm drain system\, it’s overdue a good tidy up to minimise what ends up in the sea. \nWe’ll be working our way alongside the walking track from Traverse Lane to Kauri Lane and back up to Sentinel Ave. It’s not a small task but we’re looking forward to coming together to showing what small communities can achieve!  \nLooking forward to seeing you there!
