DESCRIPTION:One of the key themes that came up from our recent community engagement – Hui tahi tātou o Porirua – was that the neighbourhood needs a clean up. \nAs part of Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s Clean Up Week we are running a neighbourhood clean up event on 16 September from 10am-1pm. Te Rā Nui will be working alongside community\, providing rubbish bags and skip bins to collect in all four neighbourhoods in the project precinct. We’ll also have marquees set up where the community can bring things that are still usable\, but they don’t need anymore\, and others can take them home if they need them. Collect as much rubbish as you can from wherever you can – Parks\, reserves\, streets\, water ways\, beaches\, rivers and other public places. All rubbish will be disposed of FREE of charge at the Ōpōtiki Resource Recovery Centre – We can pick it up or you can drop it off (more details are on the registration form).
