DESCRIPTION:We have found over the past few years that it is best to keep our event as flexible as possible so it suits as many volunteers as possible.  We will set up a self-help table at our front door for our volunteers to rock up any time they can over the week from September 17th. \nJust register as a volunteer (or message us name and email details and we can do this for you) as this is part of the Keep New Zealand Beautiful process AND shows we had a whole lot of helpers! 🙂 \nPlease bring your own sturdy gloves\, buckets\, tongs – but we will have a few disposable rubber gloves\, Council rubbish bags (for trash)\, feed sacks (for recycling)\, high vis vests (1-2 per group if needed – please return). \nHead out anywhere you choose – just be extra safe and avoid any roadways >50km. \nJust leave the bags collected inside our gate and we will have them taken away – try to separate any quality recycling into the bins provided. \nFamily friendly suggestion:\nBothamley Parkway – https://www.walkingwithkidsnz.com/post/bothamley-park-walkway-to-ascot-park-aotea \nWe hope to have your help for Keep New Zealand Beautiful Clean up week so we can finish up with a whole pile of trash that will go to the right place rather than littering our community!

Covered in relics and litter from many hazy nights on the town and the many pedestrians who huff and puff those steep steps day and night. \n\n\n\nCome and join us in restoring some pride into this patch with a couple of hours of cleaning up! Many hands make light work\, so Nau Mai\, Haere Mai! \n\n\n\nWe will have old sacks and some tubs to fill with rubbish.  We encourage you to bring a pair of gardening gloves if you own them.  All rubbish collected will be audited and reported back to Keep Dunedin Beautiful. \n\n\n\nP.S. if you work or live in the area\, please spread the word that littering is no longer acceptable here (yep\, this includes your ciggie butts).

We need all the help we can get to keep our little piece of paradise that is the Otago Peninsula\, beautiful.

SUMMARY:Eastside Neighbourhood Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:One of the key themes that came up from our recent community engagement – Hui tahi tātou o Porirua – was that the neighbourhood needs a clean up. \nAs part of Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s Clean Up Week we are running a neighbourhood clean up event on 16 September from 10am-1pm. Te Rā Nui will be working alongside community\, providing rubbish bags and skip bins to collect in all four neighbourhoods in the project precinct. We’ll also have marquees set up where the community can bring things that are still usable\, but they don’t need anymore\, and others can take them home if they need them.
