DESCRIPTION:Join New Zealand’s largest movement against litter and take part in Clean Up Week 2023. \n\n\n\nClean Up Week provides a great opportunity for schools\, businesses\, community groups\, friends and families to get together\, collect litter and make a difference in their neighbourhood. \n\n\n\nIn 2022\, we had over 67\,400 volunteers who collected a total of 655 tonnes of waste over an area equivalent to 5\,751 rugby fields. Our most successful event ever!  \n\n\n\nGet involved and let’s make this year even bigger and better! \n\n\n\nClean Up Week will once again kick off on World Clean Up Day\, Saturday 16 September and run until 22 September 2023. Mark the dates in your diaries now and start planning your event. Registrations will open on our website in early July.

DESCRIPTION:Let’s get into it Ōpōtiki! Volunteer your time to pick up rubbish\, show your town pride and help Keep New Zealand Beautiful. Get your clean up crew together – school\, organisations\, businesses\, kindys\, friends and family. \nRegister online at www.opotikinz.co.nz or visit the Ōpōtiki iSite Visitor Information Centre. \nKIT OUT YOUR OWN CLEAN UP! Use reusable materials for your clean up – Bins\, containers\, garden gloves\, old gloves – This reduces plastic waste. Collect as much rubbish as you can from wherever you can – Parks\, reserves\, streets\, water ways\, beaches\, rivers and other public places. All rubbish will be disposed of FREE of charge at the Ōpōtiki Resource Recovery Centre – We can pick it up or you can drop it off (more details are on the registration form). Please organise your own clean-up kit for your team (safe and reusable when you can!). If you get stuck\, we’ll have a limited number of clean up kits available at the isite. \nTake photos of your clean up and post them with the hashtag #cleanupopotiki!!

DESCRIPTION:After-work Beach cleanup at Paritutu Centennial Park (Back Beach) – Tuesday 19 September – 4pm (it is fine to be late!).  \n\n\n\nCome and help us clean the Paritutu Centennial Park and Back Beach! \n\n\n\nThis cleanup is organised by Taranaki Conservationists and Sustainable Taranaki. \n\n\n\nThis event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome! \n\n\n\n4pm (or later) – Meet at the top parking of Paritutu – Centennial Park (see poster for the location or see on Google Maps here) for a briefing. Bring your own gloves and buckets if possible but we’ll provide some if needed! \n\n\n\n6:30pm (or earlier) – Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (recycling and landfill will be separated) and discuss with Dave\, our Zero Waste educator! \n\n\n\nDave\, the Junction’s Zero Waste Educator\, will engage will all of us about reducing waste and how we can all do better!   \n\n\n\nNo RSVP required! Just show up! \n\n\n\nThe aim of this event is: \n\n\n\n– to clean this location the best we can– to divert trash from the landfill– to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling– to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation \n\n\n\nSee you this Tuesday 19 September 4pm (or later) at the Paritutu Centennial Park!
