SUMMARY:Kaimai Views Walkway Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:Team up with your local neighbours and let’s get the area looking beautiful for all to enjoy! \nIt’s going to be great to have the walking track that is set to connect the subdivision to new developments in the next few years. We’re also so lucky that wildlife like to frequent the waterway and shelter amongst the bushes along side it. With rubbish being blown down from nearby building sites and being washed through the storm drain system\, it’s overdue a good tidy up to minimise what ends up in the sea. \nWe’ll be working our way alongside the walking track from Traverse Lane to Kauri Lane and back up to Sentinel Ave. It’s not a small task but we’re looking forward to coming together to showing what small communities can achieve!  \nLooking forward to seeing you there! SUMMARY:Valley Spring Clean
DESCRIPTION:The Valley Spring Clean is a by the community\, for the community event in which we encourage the public to bring in their waste\, provide demonstrations on sustainable initiatives and have numerous fun activities for kids to name just a small aspect of this jam-packed day. \nThe Spring Clean occurs to support the people of North East Valley in being responsible with what they no longer need. With support from Dunedin City Council\, we are going bigger and better\, especially in avoiding sending items to landfill. We’ll have a team of dedicated volunteers assessing and diverting as much as possible away from the skip\, as well as a cloth swap shop for unwanted items\, The community can bring along paint\, scrap metal\, plant punnets and pots for re-use and recycling. The Stitch Kitchen team will be on site to help repair or re-purpose clothes for those who wish to do so. It’s all taking place on the grounds of our Valley Project. \nThere will be children’s entertainment as well as presentations by Enviro-schools on waste minimisation and repurposing\, food for volunteers and the public provided by the wonderful community-minded Dunedin Bowling Club and much more! \nIt’s all happening on Saturday 24 September 2022 from 11am to 3pm.
