Hamish Weir wins March Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to Hamish Weir, our Volunteer of the Month for March.

Hamish volunteers for the Taumarunui Revitilisation Task Force, a community group dedicated to projects around the community which help to beautify the town.

One of these projects is the Rhododendron Project where 150 Rhododendrons were sponsored and planted by the community along the highway south of Taumarunui. Hamish is an avid supporter of this project and turns up to all the working bees to hand weed around the trees as well as weed eating when its needed. It often takes him a couple of days but he keeps going until they are all done.

Hamish says the contribution he gives to the Revitilisation Task Force is something which gives him great pleasure. He is also involved in the Taumarunui Tramping and Owhango Alive groups, which carry out maintenance on the tracks, planting native trees/shrubs and pest eradication which involves checking the traps each week.

Congratulations Hamish and thank you for helping to Keep New Zealand Beautiful.

The winner of the New Zealand Couriers Volunteer of the Month receives $100, a KNZB tshirt, New Zealand Couriers bag, Resene paint voucher, Klean Kanteen drink bottle, a 6-pack of Vista Drinks sparkling water and more – along with being automatically entered into the annual Beautiful Awards!
