Hurunga Te Rangi Marae Clean Up

Keep Rotorua Beautiful was very pleased to be involved with a cleanup of Hurunga Te Rangi Marae and the surrounding area on Saturday 11th June 2011. Five large skips of rubbish were removed sponsored by Keep Rotorua Beautiful and the Recycling company Kiwi Commodity Recycling Solutions Ltd provided trailers and trucks to remove a large quantity of metal, including fridges, washing machines etc as well as paper, glass etc.

We invited the Corrections Dept to join us and their clients did a great job of wombling the local streets as well as assisting the residents unload their vehicles. The organiser of the event Anthony Waiomio (in the beanie ) is joined by two of our Keep Rotorua Beautiful Committee members Julia Steele and Rick Mansell.
