North Shore Coastal Clean-up

When: 16 April · 08:00 - 19:00
Where: Beaches from Long Bay to Devonport, North Shore, Auckland
On Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of April, schools, businesses, families and volunteers and all others who love the beaches of the North Shore are invited to take part in the biggest coastal clean-up ever organised in the area: the ‘Love your Coast’ North Shore Coastal Clean-up.
The Friday event will see school students and local businesses team-up to hit the beaches, while the Saturday event will be open to the entire community. The clean-up will focus on the beaches from Long Bay in the north down to Devonport in the south - aiming to pick-up every bit of trash from the coastline along the way.
Several North Shore businesses – Benefitz, Lantern Insurance and Oceanbridge – have already confirmed their support and made generous contributions and we’re looking to raise further funds, prizes and motivate as much of the North Shore community as possible to get involved.
At the end of the clean-up event on Saturday we’ll be holding a picnic barbecue (venue TBC), so that everyone who participates over the two days can get together and celebrate what they’ve achieved.
We'll be holding a photo comp for everyone and a creative writing competition for school students: the winners of which will receive epic prizes and have their work published in Channel Mag - North Shore’s Monthly Magazine.
Just RSVP here to keep in the loop as we fine-tune event plans.
