QUANTUM LEAP DINNER

On the 29th February, we held the Quantum Leap function at the Beehive to present the Keep New Zealand Beautiful Barnita Trust Trophy, as well as the 2007 Environmentalist of the Year Award.

It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all. Big congratulations to the winners on the night, Lester Harvey and Westland District Council. The awards were well deserved.

The function was a special opportunity to recognise the tireless efforts of some very devoted individuals. An enormous thank you to all of those in attendance, and especially to our sponsors for all of their support, without which the event would not have been at all possible.

 

MY IMPRESSION OF THE QUANTUM LEAP FUNCTION - BETTINA MCCULLOCH, WOODVILLE

I appreciated Barry Lucinsky's massive effort to hold the KNZB function at the Beehive. What a shame so many politicians gave their apologies, it just showed me how little they care about KNZB.

Don't kid yourself - if the Queen was there at KNZB, they sure would be. It was good to get into the Beehive building and see firsthand the extravagance invested into the useless, ugly décor for only a few to see.

While a little elderly gentleman who sat amongst us at the KNZB function had given up years of blood, sweat and tears to care for his and our environment, for all to see. Dear, dear Lester Harvey, you have won more merits in my heart than any politician.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO

Many of you will have received an award during your life, but have you ever thought about who actually makes the trophies? Keep New Zealand Beautiful use Display Tactix for all of ours, so we invited them along to last year's Quantam Leap function to see the end result of all of their hard work.

Display Tactix made the Environmentalist Award and restored the Barnita Trust Trophy to its former glory, and were proud to see them go to some very deserving people.
